Websites built for enquiries
Fast, mobile-first sites built around enquiry paths rather than decoration. You own the result and can take it with you.
How I build themI’m Tony. I build small-business websites designed around one job — turning visitors into enquiries — and I do the local SEO work aimed at getting you found when people nearby search for what you do.
A site nobody can find is wasted money. Traffic to a site that doesn’t convert is wasted attention. Most of my work is fixing one or both.

How I build themBeing found in Clacton, Colchester and the towns around them is a different job from ranking nationally. Local is all I do.
What local SEO coversA specific, evidenced report on what’s holding your site back — written for you, not a generic checklist with your logo on top.
What the audit coversGoogle Business Profile optimisation, AI Search Visibility and an AI Virtual Receptionist — focused services for when the site and the rankings are working and you want more.
See visibility & AI servicesClacton on Sea is home. Colchester and the rest of north Essex are a short drive, and plenty of the work happens remotely anyway.
Areas coveredMost people aren’t. Tell me what’s happening now — no enquiries, wrong enquiries, invisible on Google — and I’ll say plainly which of the above would actually help.
Compare the servicesThe same shape whether it’s a new site, an SEO campaign or both.
I audit what you’ve got: the site, your Google Business Profile, who’s beating you locally and why. You get the findings whether or not we work together.
What I’d do first, what it costs and what it should change. Written down before anything starts, so there are no surprise line items.
I do the work and show you progress as it happens rather than disappearing for six weeks.
Tracking goes on from day one, so “is this working?” is answered with numbers — calls, forms, enquiries — not opinions.
Indicative starting points so you can judge whether it’s worth a conversation. Your actual quote is confirmed on a call, in writing, before any work begins.

I’m in Clacton on Sea. That’s the base, and everywhere else is honestly described as a service area rather than a second office.
Where I’m based and where I know the market best — the seasonal trade, the seafront businesses, the tradespeople covering the Tendring villages.
Clacton on Sea SEO & web designAbout half an hour up the road. A bigger town, more competition per search, and a different job as a result — I’ll happily come to you.
Colchester SEO & web designAlso working with businesses across Tendring, Frinton, Walton, Harwich and the wider north Essex area. If you’re nearby, ask.
Answering the same five questions, gathering enquiry details, and knowing when to hand a conversation to a human. There’s a live example running on this site right now — look for the chat button in the bottom corner.
An assistant on your site that handles routine questions — hours, areas covered, what you do and don’t take on — using the information you’ve approved, never invented answers.
Collects contact and service details you’d ask for anyway, so an enquiry arrives with the details already filled in.
It doesn’t invent prices or availability. Anything outside what it knows goes straight to a human, by whichever channel you choose. Try the one on this site — bottom corner of the screen — to see exactly how it behaves.
Top in Local is small on purpose. When you email or ring, you get the person who built the site and runs the campaign — not an account manager relaying messages to a team you never meet.
That’s the trade-off: I’m not a fifty-person agency and I don’t take on more clients than I can do proper work for. What you get instead is someone who knows your account without needing to look it up, and who is a short drive away when it matters.
Two main things: I build small-business websites designed around producing enquiries, and I do local SEO work aimed at helping those sites turn up when someone nearby searches. Around that there are visibility and AI services — Google Business Profile optimisation, AI Search Visibility and an AI Virtual Receptionist — for clients who want more once the basics are working.
Mostly, yes, and deliberately. Everything I do is built around being found by people in a specific area, which is a different discipline from national or e-commerce SEO. If you sell nationwide, I’m probably not your best option and I’ll say so.
It depends which half is broken. If people find you and don’t ring, the site is the problem. If nobody finds you at all, visibility is the problem. Plenty of businesses have both, and plenty have neither and just need a tidy-up. The free audit exists to answer this honestly — including the answer “keep what you’ve got”.
Clacton on Sea, Essex. I work with tradespeople, independent shops, care and health services, hospitality and other owner-run businesses across Clacton, Colchester and the wider Tendring and north Essex area. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
Ask for the free local SEO audit, or send a message with what’s not working. You’ll get a straight reply about whether I can help, what it would involve and roughly what it would cost — before any commitment.
Practical write-ups on local search, Google Business Profile and what actually makes a small-business site convert — written for owners, not for other marketers.
First articles are being written. Rather than pad this section with filler, it stays empty until there’s something worth reading. If there’s a question you’d want answered first, tell me and I’ll write that one.
A few lines is enough. I’ll come back with whether I can help, what I’d suggest doing first and roughly what it costs.
